Wan Chai Past, Wan Chai Future? Harry Reid

HK$80.00價格

Ever since the days of the infamous China opium trade in the 1800s, Wan Chai has been at the centre of almost everything in Hong Kong - geographically, historically and culturally.

Wan Chai has a special atmosphere and everybody seems to be comfortable to be part of it, whether they’re young or old, rich or poor, Chinese or foreign.  Something is always happening - the place has more buzz than anywhere else in Hong Kong.

This book considers the past, present and future of Wanchai.  Its is profusely illustrated, particularly with images of daily life there today, as many of the scenes and situations photographed may not be seen beyond the next few years due to the impact of rapid redevelopment.

Harry Reid has lived over 20 years in Hong Kong at different times, working mainly with Ogilvy Advertising, both locally and regionally.  His first office was in Gloucester Road, Wan Chai way back in 1966, which marked the start of his relationship with Hong Kong’s most vibrant district.
