Yasi ( Leung Ping Kwan )  is a prominent writer, poet, scholar, educator and cultural figure of Hong Kong. He did not only write, but also entered into countless dialogues with artists of different media. 

 

Yasi sadly passed away in 2013.  

To commemorate one of the most versatile Hong Kong writers, an outdoor event

comprising elements Yasi always loved was held.  

They included picnic, concert, dance performance, crossover between poetry and food, 

letterpress printing, art and more.  

 

We also turned some of Yasi’s most beloved poems about food into picnic cloths.

The public was invited to picnic on his poems while enjoying performances.

 Added to the above guided tours for secondary schools and the public.  

 

"Tribute to Yasi" was first held in 2015.  

In 2016, a documentary on the writer chose to have its film premiere at the Event.  

 

This is a continuous project co-hosted by Read-Cycling and various units of The University of Hong Kong.
